Some ideas start in a design studio but ours started with something Mona kept hearing from the people who follow her.
Mona studied at FIT in New York and she shares her styling with more than a million people as @artofstylemona. For years her community kept telling her they couldn't find a tee that felt easy and still looked beautiful. The oversized ones were comfy but hid their shape and the fitted ones showed everything. Honestly Mona couldn't find one either and she'd been looking for a long time.
Working it out together
When we started Mon Cinq that tee was the first thing we wanted to get right. Mona already knew what was missing because her audience had been telling her for years. The rest we figured out together by actually doing it. We fitted it and tailored it and adjusted it over and over until it finally felt right.
Why the cinch is on one side
We both wanted a waist without having to tuck anything in. A cinch on one side pulls the tee in just enough to give you that shape and it works like a half tuck that actually stays put. So a simple tee ends up looking like you really thought about your outfit when all you did was pull it on.
That's what we call the Mon Cinq Method. We build the little details into the piece itself so you never have to style around it.
